Color the Park Updates
Thursday, July 31, 2014

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to Color the Park!

Several companies have submitted impressive updates:

AXA Advisors, a 25 person office, has raised $200 for Classroom Central and are aiming to reach $300 by the end of the drive. Employees plan to celebrate with a catered lunch if they meet their goal.

XPO Logistics has collected 739 packs of markers to date. Employees formed seven teams, ranging in size from 35 to 50 people per team, and engaged in friendly intra-office competition. The first team to collect 150 packs of markers, received a bagel breakfast. The first team to collect 300 packs of makers received a catered lunch, and the individual who donates the most packs of markers will receive a $50 gift card. The first milestone was reached within hours of the start of the drive.

Bank of America’s Charlotte Centralized Sales Department has collected 15,885 markers.

Courtyard Charlotte Ballantyne set a goal of collecting 400 packs of markers and had collected 105 by Wednesday morning. If the goal is met, the Courtyard Management Team will streak their hair the colors of markers and the entire team will celebrate with a pizza party.

The Hanover Insurance Group, a 20 person office, was challenged to donate 100 packs of markers and exceeded that goal by Wednesday morning. Employees will celebrate with a pizza luncheon on Friday.

During July 14-25, The Remi Group held an open collection of all school supplies. Employees who contributed were then entered into a drawing for one of three prizes: a free PTO day to be used this year, a half PTO day, and the chance to leave an hour early. Remi’s Green Committee also held a Farmer’s Market, and the proceeds were donated to the internal school supplies drive. Remi collected 671 items that will be donated this week to Color the Park.

Color the Park THIS WEEK!

Color the Park

The seventh annual Color the Park Marker Drive benefiting Classroom Central is THIS WEEK!

Classroom Central is a free store for teachers that supports six counties around the Charlotte area by providing school supplies to children in need. With your help, we can brighten the future of children in our community. Classroom Central requested that Ballantyne Corporate Park collect packs of markers. Last year, Ballantyne Corporate Park collected more than 13,000 packs for Classroom Central. Let’s see what we can do together this year!

Please drop off your marker and/or school supply donations in the blue donation barrels in the building lobbies before 12:00pm on Friday, August 1.

10-count Cra-Z-Art markers for $0.77 at Walmart
Up+Up markers at Target for $1.00
10-count Crayola markers for $1.25
