Winter Visit From Roaming Fork

Roaming Fork has received several requests to come back to Ballantyne for a couple dates during their winter break. Stop by the Brixham Tent area on Thursday, February 2 and February 9 from 11:00am - 2:00pm to pick up lunch from the tasty bistro on wheels.

Roaming Fork will resume normal schedule of every Thursday once the Spring weather hits.

The American Red Cross will host a blood drive in Ballantyne Corporate Park on Wednesday, February 1, 9:00am – 1:30pm. The blood drive will be held in the Bissell Training Room located in Suite 300 of the Chandler Building (13860 Ballantyne Corporate Place). All donors will be treated to a movie during their donation! Three donors will receive $10 gift cards to Gallery Restaurant and donors will also be registered to win two Delta Airlines tickets through the American Red Cross.

Schedule your appointment today at redcrossblood.org and click “MAKE A BLOOD DONATION APPOINTMENT” on the right side of the page. Then enter the sponsor code, 5857. Infinisource, a leading benefits administration firm, will be relocating its corporate headquarters to the Harris Building, creating 162 jobs in Charlotte. This was highlighted in the Charlotte Business Journal this week.

The Golf Club at Ballantyne Hosts the Ballantyne Junior Open

One hundred twenty young golfers will tee it up at the Ballantyne Junior Open being hosted again this year by The Golf Club at Ballantyne on February 11-12, 2012. The Ballantyne Junior Open is a 36-hole stroke golf tournament directed by Marc Lapointe, Senior Instructor at Dana Rader Golf School.


Stan Roach Named Regional Club Fitter of the Year

Club-fitting pioneer and leader PING announced today that Stan Roach at Dana Rader Golf School, Charlotte, NC has been honored as 2011 PING Regional Club Fitter of the Year. This is the third time that Stan has achieved this honor as he did so in 2003 and 2009 as well. First given in 1997, the award recognizes the Authorized PING Fitter that has demonstrated the highest commitment to custom fitting and the promotion of its benefits to golfers of all abilities.

Dozens of area restaurants are participating this year offering 3 courses for $30—some are even offering 4 for $30, like Terrace Café Ballantyne and Waldhorn Restaurant. Gallery Restaurant is on this list this year as well with southern selections like Low Country Shrimp and Grits, BBQ Braised Short Rib of Beef and Decadent Chocolate Cake.

Marc Lapointe, Senior Instructor and PGA Class A Professional, and Molly Tullar, Staff Instructor and LPGA Class A Professional, at Dana Rader Golf School were honored for their talent and commitment to working with junior golfers by being named to U.S. Kids Golf Honorable Mention list of Top 50 Kids Teachers for 2011. LaPointe also received this honor in 2010.
