Procter & Gamble Wins YMCA Corporate Sports Spring Softball League Championship

Congrats, Procter & Gamble, winner of the YMCA Corporate Sports Spring Softball League championship!

Procter & Gamble defeated ESPN 13-3 in the championship game. The top three teams in the league competed in the tournament, and Procter & Gamble defeated Team Boom Boom 10-7 in the play-in game to advance to the championship. 

The tournament marks the end of the eight-week spring season for the YMCA Corporate Sports League. The League was comprised of six teams: Procter & Gamble, ESPN, Boom Boom, Premier, LendingTree and Movement Insurance.

Rising Orange, a team of athletes from BCP Card member Rising CrossFit Ballantyne, recently took second place at the Atlantic Regional and will advance to The CrossFit Games. Congrats, Rising CrossFit Ballantyne! 

YMCA Walking Wednesdays in BCP

Take steps toward a healthier life and creating a healthier Charlotte by walking with the YMCA every Wednesday in May from 12:15-12:45 p.m. for a walk through the Park led by Lisa Johnson, Corporate Health Director at the Morrison Family YMCA. Participants should plan to arrive at the Ballantyne Two parking lot between noon and 12:15 p.m to sign in.  Pre-registration is requested but not required. Click here for the registration link.

The Remi Group Hosts Volunteer Recognition Day

Remi hosted an internal “Volunteer Recognition Day” on April 20 to thank employees who volunteer with Friendship Trays Meals of Wheels in Charlotte-Mecklenburg

Since 2011, more than fifty employees have delivered meals to those in need in Charlotte. 

Remi treated the volunteers to a catered lunch from Chick-fil-a.

Wasted Potential (MetLife D) Takes Kickball Title

Congrats, Wasted Potential (MetLife D), winner of the YMCA Spring Corporate Sports League Kickball tournament! 

Wasted Potential (MetLife D) defeated Ballbusters (MetLife B) 12-0 in the championship game on May 12. 

Four teams competed in the tournament. In the semifinal round, Ballbusters (MetLife B) defeated The Remi Group 5-1, and Wasted Potential (MetLife D) defeated One Kick Wonders (MetLife C) 9-7. 

The tournament marks the end of the eight-week spring season for the YMCA Corporate Sports League. The League was comprised of eight teams: Pitches Be Like (MetLife A), Ballbusters (MetLife B), One Kick Wonders (MetLife C), Wasted Potential (MetLife D), MetLife Kick It & Quit It, The Remi Group, Bissell A and Bissell B. Dana Rader, founder and owner of Dana Rader Golf School, a Golf Channel Academy, spoke during a session of the ESPN Mentoring Program on May 12. 
The nine-month mentoring program aims to provide ESPN employees with the opportunity to learn from successful individuals and to focus on personal and professional growth. 
Rader spoke about the people and events that influenced her and helped shape her career. She shared her personal philosophy about success and the importance of a positive self image in one’s life and career. 
Dana Rader, a nationally recognized leader in the golf industry named by Golf Digest as one of America’s 50 Greatest Teachers, is consistently ranked as a Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor and currently serves as LPGA Teaching and Club Professional National President. She is a Golf Channel Academy Charter Lead Coach, has been honored as LPGA National Teacher of the Year and she has achieved LPGA Master Professional status. The event will be held 11 a.m – 2 p.m. at the Brixham Tent in Ballantyne Corporate Park. Remember to bring your appetite and business cards!

Purchase tickets online for $12 or at the Morrison Family and Ballantyne Village YMCAs for $10. On May 28 and 29, Ballantyne Corporate Park tenants can purchase tickets for $8 at Ballantyne Business Center by showing their BCP Cards. Tickets will be available at the gate for $15.

YMCA to Offer Free Transportation to Summer Day Camps from BCP

The Morrison Family YMCA will be offering transportation to the YMCA Summer Day Camp for children of Ballantyne Corporate Park employees.

Registration is required at least one week prior to camp for this free service.  Space is limited and only offered to Ballantyne Corporate Park Tenants. Register early to reserve your spot. Click here to register your child for weekly transportation from one of the following four locations in Ballantyne Corporate Park to the Morrison Family YMCA Camp locations:

7:40 a.m. Service entrance to the Gragg Building
7:50 a.m. Service entrance to the Boyle building
8 a.m. Service entrance to the Harris Building

Donate blood with the American Red Cross in Ballantyne Corporate Park on May 28. The blood drive will be held on the blood mobile at the Brixham Tent from 9 a.m. until 1:30p.m. Volunteer your time with the Ballantyne community to help save lives.
