You’re Invited to Ballantyne Breakfast Club

Ballantyne Breakfast Club's next meeting is on Saturday, December 5 at 9 a.m. in the Fairway Ballroom of The Ballantyne Hotel & Lodge. 

The focus of the meeting will be on increasing public awareness related to public safety issues that occur during the holiday season and to discuss the recent increases in crime in Charlotte. 

Guest speakers will include representatives from CMPD including the commander of the South District, Capt. Todd Lontz, and Mecklenburg County Sheriff Irwin Carmichael will share advice on how to avoid being a victim.

City Council Representatives Ed Driggs and Claire Fallon, who chairs the public safety committee, will join the discussion. Invitations to the meeting have been extended to Mayor elect Jennifer Roberts and other council representatives. 

Please arrive by 8:30 a.m. and enjoy free refreshments provided by The Ballantyne Hotel & Lodge.

Packs for Patriots Drive Serves Over 2,000 Troops!

Ballantyne Corporate Park would like to thank you for your generous donations to our Packs for Patriots drive benefiting USO North Carolina

We are thrilled to announce that as a community, we collected 14,046 toiletry and snack items, and $1,775 in monetary donations to provide over 2,000 rack packs for America's troops. All donations will be distributed to our servicemen and women as they travel home for the holidays through the USO's rack pack program

WIth my son being a solider, this particular drive hit home for me. When I received the email in regards to the Packs for Patriots drive, I forwarded it to my entire Charlotte office staff. My peers came through in a big way to support our troops and I am extremely proud. 

Leanna's son, Specialist Winston Garrison E4 - US Army Reservist is the current recipient of the Soldier Of The Year Award for his command. He is pictured with Property Manager Frank Bass.

Isabella Santos Foundation's Results Are In...

The Isabella Santos Foundation 5K/10K for Kids Cancer was held on September 26. In addition to the race, the Isabella Santos Foundation held a silent auction, raffle and various fundraising events throughout September and raised more than $405, 000! 

With the funds raised this year, ISF will be able to fund clinical trials for Neuroblastoma research, provide support for families who have children fighting cancer, as well as support many incredible organizations that helped Isabella in her own fight! 

GyroTwins Are Moving to NCH

GyroTwins will be relocating from the Brixham Tent food truck area across from the Hayes building (off of North Community House Road) on Thursday, December 10. The family-owned authentic Greek food truck will be available in the park every other Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Mobile Mammogram Bus is Coming to BAE

BAE Systems is offering annual mammogram screenings for the BCP community in partnership with Charlotte Radiology's Mobile Breast Center on Wednesday, December 2 and Thursday, December 3. The mammogram bus will be parked in the Rushmore Four Building parking lot from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., where patients will experience the same quality, compassionate care, expertise and comfortable atmosphere, including digital mammography and female technologists certified in breast imaging. 

Schedule your appointment today by calling Charlotte Radiology at 704-367-2232 ext. 6241, or submit a patient form via fax or email. Charlotte Radiology and the American Cancer Society recommend annual mammography for women ages 40 and older. If insurance allows, a baseline mammogram is recommended for women between the ages of 35-39. All patients must provide insurance and physician information.

Register for the Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis

The Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis will be held on Saturday, December 12 at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Start a team, be a sponsor, volunteer, spread the word! Join the nation's largest holiday 5K race series aimed to fight arthritis and help lead the way in conquering the nation's leading cause of disability. 

The fundraising event is a fun and festive 5K race or 1-mile Fun Run. You can even get in the spirit by wearing holiday themed costumes and tying jingle bells ro your shoelaces!

CATS Service Traveling to Ballantyne

BCP Tenants Enjoyed Habitat Wildlife Keepers Lunch and Learn

On November 17, Ballantyne Corporate Park hosted a free Habitat Wildlife Keepers (HAWK) lunch seminar. Fifteen attendees learned what it takes to turn a backyard into a Certified Wildlife Habitat.

Debbie Foster, founding member of HAWK walked attendees through the requirements and certification process, while offering tips on creating a haven for desirable wildlife and how to encourage others to do the same. HAWK is a local nonprofit organization dedicated to environmental education and conversation.

Sonic Automotive Enjoys Team Building Project at Habitat for Humanity

On November 13, Sonic Automotive participated in a team building project by volunteering at Habitat for Humanity. Habitat for Humanity's goal is to eliminate substandard housing worldwide by bringing people together to build community, homes and hope. Habitat for Humanity was established in 1983 and has helped approximately 1,500 low-income families receive housing. 

Sonic Automotive is so proud of all the members of the Ballantyne office who were able to commit their time to such a worthy organization in our community. Way to go, Sonic!
