Important Meeting Announcement from the Ballantyne Breakfast Club with Updated Information
I-485 Widening & Bridges Project Meeting
The Ballantyne Breakfast Club meeting on Saturday December 1st*
will provide the latest information on the impending widening of I-485 and the associated flyover interchange and N. Community House Road bridge. Our featured guest speaker will be the the NCDOT District Engineering Manager, Louis Mitchell along with CDOT representative Norman Steinman, NC Senator Bob Rucho and Bissell Companies CEO Ned Curran.
This meeting will focus on the I-485 widening project from I-77 to Rea Road. In specific it will cover the start of construction, schedule phases of work, steps being considered to reduce traffic delays during construction and the estimated completion date.
We will also learn about the various traffic improvements being done by the Bissell Companies in the corporate park.
One interesting topic that will be discussed is the very real possibility that one of the new lanes between I-77 & Rea Road may in fact become an optional toll lane. Discussions underway also indicate that if approval and funding can be obtained that the toll lane may be extended from Rea Road to Hwy 74 at some future date.
